When we first got samples of this coffee and shared it with customers, we kept hearing them say “I didn’t know Venezuela exported coffee!”

While that isn’t the case, it is true that specialty coffee in this country is virtually nonexistent. It takes considerable time and resources to craft specialty coffee, a luxury most farms do not have in an embattled country stuck between civil and political crises daily.

We were fortunate to meet Luis Esteva and his crew from Caracas Coffee Trade, whom specialize in specialty grade single lot coffee and have created one of the best washed anaerobics I’ve ever had. We’re lucky to be one of only a handful of roasters in the entire country with their hands on specialty Venezuelan coffee and we hope to be able to further this partnership and bring more income to an area desperately in need.
